James Millican
James Millican was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Millican's early acting career consisted of roles in various films, such as "Who Killed Gail Preston?" (1938), the drama "So Proudly We Hail" (1943) with Claudette Colbert and the comedy "The Affairs of Susan" (1945) with Joan Fontaine. He also appeared in the Jennifer Jones comedy "Love Letters" (1945), the Osa Massen drama "Tokyo Rose" (1946) and the Alan Ladd thriller "The Blue Dahlia" (1946). He continued to work steadily in film throughout the forties and the fifties, appearing in "Rimfire" (1949), the comedic drama "The Gal Who Took the West" (1949) with Yvonne De Carlo and "Winchester '73" (1950) with James Stewart. He also appeared in "Military Academy With That Avenue Gang" (1950). In the latter part of his career, he tackled roles in "Scandal Sheet" (1952), the Doris Day biopic "The Winning Team" (1952) and "Diplomatic Courier" (1952). He also appeared in "Springfield Rifle" (1952) with Gary Cooper and the western "The Silver Whip" (1953) with Dale Robertson. Millican more recently acted in the Sterling Hayden western "Top Gun" (1955). Millican passed away in November 1955 at the age of 45.
