Jim Bentley was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Known for making audiences laugh, Bentley began his acting career in comedies like "Into the Night" (1985) starring Jeff Goldblum and "Fatal Beauty" (1987) with Whoopi Goldberg and Sam Elliott. He also starred in the TV movies "Delta County U.S.A." (ABC, 1976-77) and "For Love or Money" (CBS, 1984-85). Bentley worked in television around the start of his acting career with a role on "J.J. Starbuck" (NBC, 1987-88). He continued to work steadily in television throughout the nineties, appearing on "Evening Shade" (1990-94), "Diagnosis Murder" (CBS, 1993-2001) and "ER" (NBC, 1994-2009). He also appeared in "Friends" (NBC, 1994-2004) and "Veronica's Closet" (NBC, 1997-2000). Bentley continued to exercise his talent in the nineties and the early 2000s, taking on a mix of projects like "It's Like, You Know..." (ABC, 1998-2000), "Jesse" and "Ride With the Devil" with Tobey Maguire (1999). His credits also expanded to "LAX" (NBC, 2004-05), "Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed" with Sarah Michelle Gellar (2004) and the Leonardo DiCaprio and Cate Blanchett box office smash "The Aviator" (2004). Bentley most recently acted on "The Comeback" (HBO, 2004-2015).
