Born on January 1, 1944, in Jackson, Mississippi, Jimmy Hart is an American professional wrestling manager, composer and musician. As a teenager, Hart was a vocalist in the 60s band The Gentrys. In 1967, Hart appeared in the film "It's a Bikini World" as a member of The Gentrys. Jerry "the King" Lawler got Hart into wrestling. In 1982, Hart made headlines doing a program with comedian Andy Kaufman. In 1985, Hart was hired by WWF owner Vince McMahon and was nicknamed "the Mouth of the South." Hart was named Pro Wrestling Illustrated's Manager of the Year in 1987. Following his departure from the WWF, Hart briefly toured Mexico. After his return, Hart wrote music and occasionally appeared on Hogan's television show, "Thunder in Paradise." At Bash at the Beach in 1994, Hart managed Hogan to win his first WCW World Heavyweight Title by defeating "the Nature Boy" Ric Flair. In October 2003, Hart made his debut for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). In 2011, Hart appeared as himself in the movie "Monster Brawl." On August 14, 2011, Hart made an appearance at SummerSlam. On January 4, 2021, he made an appearance on "RAW Legends Night." On January 23, 2023, Jimmy Hart appeared on "WWE Raw is XXX," accompanying Hulk Hogan to open the show.
