John Gemberling
A member of the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, writer, actor and comedian John Gemberling transitioned to the screen specializing in the role of the unkempt slob, most notably in "Super Fun Night" (ABC, 2013-14), "Broad City" (Comedy Central, 2014- ) and "Marry Me" (NBC, 2014-15). Born in New York City in 1981, Gemberling first began performing at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, where he formed the improv group Death By Roo Roo, struck up a partnership with Curtis Gwinn under the guise of The Cowboy and John, and appeared in several of their TV shorts and series. Following his film debut in paintball-based mockumentary "Blackballed: The Bobby Dukes Story" (2004), Gemberling was cast as the Wiener family friend, Second Judah, in Todd Solondz's provocative "Palindromes" (2004), became a regular on hidden camera show "Damage Control" (MTV, 2005) and played a driller scientist in sci-fi thriller "Gingerbreed" (2006). Adapted from the Channel 102 web series he created with Gwinn, "Fat Guy Stuck In Internet" (Adult Swim, 2007-08) saw him reprise his role as the computer programmer sucked into cyberspace, and after small parts in comedies "Twisted Fortune" (2007) and "May The Best Man Win" (2009), Gemberling voiced Blastus and Terrorbyte in the pitch-black animation "Robotomy" (Cartoon Network, 2010-11) and played Clem in the surreal Southern Gothic soap opera "The Heart, She Holler" (Adult Swim, 2011-14). Gemberling then guested on "Don't Trust The Bitch In Apartment 23" (ABC, 2012-13), the finale of "The Office: An American Workplace" (NBC, 2005-2013) and "Happy Endings" (ABC, 2011-13) before landing his first major recurring role as Dan, Kimmie's neighbor in "Super Fun Night" (ABC, 2013-14). Gemberling raised his profile further a year later when he became a series regular on two critically-acclaimed new sitcoms, playing Bevers, the overbearing freeloading boyfriend of Abbi's roommate in the critically acclaimed "Broad City" (Comedy Central, 2014-) and recently divorced friend Gil in "Marry Me" (NBC, 2014-), a sitcom by "Happy Endings" creator David Caspe starring his wife, Casey Wilson.
