Character actor Jon Lormer was a fixture on American series television during the '50s and '60s. A short, slender man, Lormer cut a diminutive figure but left substantial impressions with his shock of grey hair and haunted appearance, regularly essaying tortured everymen on series dramas and made-for-TV films. After debuting on New York stages, Lormer, like most actors who emerged during the Golden Era of Television, began performing on live teleplays like "Studio One in Hollywood" and "Playhouse 90." After recurring roles on the popular courtroom drama "Perry Mason" and the primetime soap "Peyton Place" (as a judge), Lormer became best known for his work in the sci-fi and horror genres, appearing, in three separate roles, on the original "Star Trek" series; in four episodes, between 1960 and 1963, of "The Twilight Zone"; and, one of his final film roles, in the George A. Romero-directed 1982 horror feature "Creepshow."
