Joseph Mallozzi is a Canadian-born TV writer and producer best known for his work on the sci-fi series franchise "Stargate SG-1." A native of Montreal, Mallozzi began his career in television in the late 1990s as a writer and developer on gentle programs for preschoolers such as "The Busy World of Richard Scarry" and "The Country Mouse and City Mouse Adventures." MAking a major shift in career direction, Mallozzi and writing partner Paul Mullie then joined the crew of the long-running Canadian-produced science fiction hit "Stargate SG-1" on the show's fourth season; initially members of the writing staff, the duo eventually rose to the role of executive producers in the long-running show's final seasons. Mallozzi and Mullie continued their partnership on the spinoffs "Stargate: Atlantis" and "SGU Stargate Universe," as well as the feature-length film "Stargate: Extinction." Mallozi, an active participant on the show's online blogs and fan forums, made a surprise cameo appearance as a crew member on "Stargate SG-1"'s 100th episode.
