Writer and producer of hit crime shows like "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" and "Bones," Josh Berman was something of a wunderkind, having been a Fulbright scholar and an attorney and found wild success in the television world, all before hitting 35. While at Stanford Business School, Berman interviewed NBC Entertainment President Warren Littlefield for an article, and the man was so impressed, he invited Berman to work for the network. While a summer associate at NBC, Berman won a contest to write a spec episode of "Seinfeld" and a spoof of "Ally McBeal," and was hired as a writer by the network. There he read the spec script for "CSI" and, after getting behind it, became a writer and producer on the series, which went on to become a mega-hit for CBS. Berman's law degree helped him give the show a uniquely authentic perspective. Soon enough he was helping launch several new detective and crime series across multiple networks. Though he faltered with the political mystery thriller "Vanished" in 2006, he found more success with the detective series "Bones," a show whose formula of flirtation and forensic anthropology has resonated with audiences. In 2009 he worked on the successful "Drop Dead Diva," about a model reincarnated as an overweight lawyer.
