Joy Gorman Wettels is a television producer best known for her work on socially conscious television series including "13 Reasons Why" (Netflix 2017-2020) and "Home Before Dark" (Apple TV, 2020- ). A native of Yonkers, New York, she attended Columbia University. Following stints in casting and talent management, Gorman Wettels moved into production with the Steve Carell indie comedy-drama "Seeking A Friend For The End of the World" (2012), Emma Roberts comedy "Adult World" (2013), and Susan Sarandon-led mother-daughter comedy "The Meddler" (2015). As a partner in the production company Anonymous Content, Gorman-Wettels made a splash with her much discussed first TV series, teen suicide drama "13 Reasons Why" (Netflix 2017-2020) and the tween drama "Home Before Dark" (Apple TV, 2020- ), based on the life of pre-teen crime news reporter Hilde Lysiak. Gorman-Wettels also produced the Amy Berg documentary "This Is Personal" (2019), about the 2017 Women's March and the rise of intersectional feminism that began afterward.
