Author, journalist, actor, producer and director Keely Shaye Smith Brosnan was born in Vallejo, California. She started her career as a model and actor, working on TV and film. She appeared in the music video for the song "Stuck with You" (1986) by the band Huey Lewis, and was later cast in "General Hospital" (1963- ). From there, she joined "The Home Show" (ABC, 1988-94) as an on-air correspondent, and used her platform to support environmentalism and animal rights, which earned her awards and nominations for her commitment to the environment. Smith went on to serve as a correspondent for several shows in the late 1990s and 2000s. During this period, she met and married actor Pierce Brosnan, who joined her in her activism efforts. Smith-Brosnan had her directorial debut with the documentary film "Poisoning Paradise" (2017), for which she earned multiple awards.
