Mattias Inwood was a New Zealand actor who broke out in the states in 2017 when he was cast in the William Shakespeare-themed television show "Will" (TNT, 2017- ). With only one acting credit to his name prior to "Will," Inwood was a relative newcomer to Hollywood, with very little information available regarding his backstory. He was born and raised in New Zealand, and did receive his Bachelor of Arts degree in performing arts from NZ Drama School. Although his screen acting credits may have been sparse, Inwood did hone his acting chops by appearing in Shakespeare's "Hamlet" on stage. Furthermore, he also got a sense of what it was like to be in front of the camera by appearing in two student short films. Both short films were produced in New Zealand, Inwood's home country. After graduating from NZ Drama School Inwood booked his very first TV role as a recurring character on the fantasy series "The Shannara Chronicles "(MTV, 2016- ). The series was filmed in New Zealand and debuted on MTV in the United States in early 2016 with Inwood playing the part of Lorin in four episodes. The following year Inwood nabbed his breakout role as Richard Burbage on the TNT historical series "Will." The series followed a young William Shakespeare at the very beginning of his playwriting career in London, and debuted on the TNT network in July of 2017.
