Mayan Lopez

Actor, writer and producer Mayan Lopez was born in 1996, the daughter of comedian George Lopez and Ann Serrano. Born and raised in a Mexican-American family, Mayan Lopez learned from her father's example to take pride in her Latinx heritage. A fierce advocate for better representation and diverse storytelling in media, Lopez began by studying theater in Chicago at Columbia College and as a member of The Second City improvisational group. Although her parents' divorce caused strain on her relationship with her father, their bond was rekindled and strengthened through creating the sitcom "Lopez vs Lopez" (NBC, 2022- ). A semi-autobiographical comedy, "Lopez vs Lopez" was produced, written, and acted by both Mayan and George.
