Michael M. Robin

Emmy Award-winning television producer Michael M. Robin began working as a post-production coordinator on the hit crime series "L.A. Law" in 1986. He soon began producing once his career began to take off. He made his directorial debut in 1990 with an episode of "Cop Rock" and continued to direct episodes for crime dramas "NYPD Blue," "C-16: FBI," and dramedy "Popular" throughout the 1990s. Although he continued to direct for television in the early 2000s, Robin's main focus turned more towards executive producing. He served as an executive producer on several popular series in the 2000s and along with partner Greer Shepard, created the Shepard/Robin production company. The pair have produced such hit series as TNT's "The Closer" and FX's "Nip/Tuck" with Robin serving as an occasional director on both shows. Robin has also directed the made-for-TV movies "Metropolis," "Bailey's Mistake," and "Eastwick" along with the critically acclaimed TV mini-series "Kingpin" in 2003. In 2010, he continued his close relationship with TNT executives by producing the mystery series "Rizzoli & Isles" based on the novels written by Tess Gerritsen.
