Mona Seefried
The daughter of opera singer Irmgard Seefried and violinist Wolfgang Schneiderhan, Mona Seefried discovered a love for performing at a young age. Training in song, dance, and drama, Seefried studied at the prestigious Max-Reinhardt-Seminar at only 15 years old, and went on to perform in various stage productions in Hamburg and Berlin. Taking a few minor roles in television and cinema during the late 1970s and 1980s, Seefried focused mainly on her theater work until 1987, when she became a regular cast member of the medical series "Praxis Bülowbogen," and began finding work in German television. In 1992, she was cast in the soap opera "Marienhof" and followed this success with roles in series such as "Vater wider Willen" and "Bei aller Liebe," and TV movies like the popular 1998 Christmas comedy "Single Bells." It wasn't until 2005 that the actress found her greatest fame as Charlotte Saalfeld on the popular television melodrama "Sturm der Liebe." More in demand than ever, between 2005 and 2010 Seefried balanced her work on the series with another role on "SOKO Donau" while continuing her stage work as well. In 1992, she married her "Marienhof" co-star Peter E. Funck, and the two live in Munich.
