Ray Lovelock

Born in Italy to a British father and an Italian mother, Raymond Lovelock has appeared continuously in film and television for five decades. While attending college, Lovelock worked as an extra in television commercials to earn extra income. He also performed covers of the Rolling Stones as part of a tribute band. But his performance career didn't really begin until he was spotted in a nightclub by an acting agent. Ruggedly handsome, he was cast in the 1967 cult spaghetti western "Django, Kill! (If You Live Shoot!)," after which he played a string of minor roles in crime films and dramas. His major breakthrough came when he played a Russian farmer in the 1971 Academy Award-winning classic "Fiddler on the Roof." Lovelock diversified his acting portfolio by starring in horror films. He was the lead in Jorge Grau's murderous zombie film, "Let Sleeping Corpses Lie," and a cynical boyfriend in "Autopsy." Lovelock acted for the small screen in the 1980s and starred in countless miniseries and television movies. As an older actor, Lovelock continues to act, albeit not as often. He had recurring roles in the drama series "Raccontami" and the family comedy "Caterina e le Sue Figlie."
