Reuben Leder is the son of director/writer/producer Paul Leder ("A.P.E.") and the brother of director Mimi Leder ("The Peacemaker" and "Deep Impact"). Reuben Leder started in the business in 1976 working various jobs (sound, associate producer, and writer) on his father's giant monster "King King" rip-off, "A.P.E.." Leder would write for various television programs, including "The Incredible Hulk," the pop-culture gem "Baywatch," the short-lived Indiana Jones-inspired "Tales of the Gold Monkey," the celebrated and cerebral "Star Trek: The Next Generation," the stately "Kung Fu: The Legend Continues," and the rough-and-tumble Chuck Norris Western adventure "Walker, Texas Ranger" (for which he was also producer), among other shows. Leder's most notable tenure is arguably his multi-role work as writer, producer, and director on the swinging and iconic 1980s Tom Selleck cop show "Magnum, P.I.." He also directed and wrote the 2003 conspiracy thriller "Baltic Storm" (based on a real disaster that occurred in 1994), starring Jurgen Prochnow, Greta Scacchi, and Donald Sutherland.
