Rise Stevens was an actress who had a successful Hollywood career. Stevens started off her career in film with roles in "The Chocolate Soldier" (1941), "Going My Way" (1944) and "Carnegie Hall" (1947) with Marsha Hunt. She went on to act in "Hansel and Gretel" (1957-58), "The Kennedy Center Honors: A Celebration of the Performing Arts" (CBS, 1990-91) and "Richard Tucker All Italian Opera Gala" (PBS, 1994-95). She also appeared in "Opera Stamps -- Dedications at the Met" (PBS, 1997-98). Later in her career, Stevens appeared on "The Art of Singing: Golden Voices, Silver Screen" (PBS, 1997-98). Stevens was married to Walter Surovy and had one child. Stevens passed away in March 2013 at the age of 100.
