Rona-Lee Shim'on
Rona-Lee Shimon was an Israeli film and TV actress who was best known for her role on Netflix's critically-acclaimed political-thriller series "Fauda" (Yes Oh/Netflix, 2015- ). Shimon began acting in her early 20s by appearing on an episode of the Israel music-themed television series "Our Song" (2004-07). She went on to nab guest spots on two more Israeli TV shows in the ensuing years, before going on to appear in the Israeli historical drama film "Infiltration" in 2010. Shimon went on to stick with film acting for the next few years, earning praise for her parts in the critically acclaimed dramas "Policeman" (2011) and "A Quiet Heart" (2016). Then in 2015 Shimon began appearing in the Israeli political thriller series "Fauda." The series was a critical hit in Israeli, and was soon acquired by Netflix. The streaming service premiered the first season of "Fauda" in December 2016, and the praise was instant. In the summer of 2017 the venerable New York Times even ranked "Fauda" as one of TV's best international dramas for 2017. The eagerly anticipated second season of "Fauda" premiered in 2018, with Shimon reprising her role as the Israeli Special Forces fighter Nurit.
