Rory Feek
Born on April 25, 1965, Rory Feek is a farmer, author and country music singer and songwriter from Atchison, Kansas. Feek began playing guitar at age 15. After high school, Feek served in the United States Marine Corps. He moved to Dallas, Texas and began playing in nightclubs. In 1995, after moving to Nashville, Tennessee, Rod Phelps encouraged Feek to sign a publishing contract. One of his first single releases as a songwriter was Collin Raye's "Someone You Used to Know," a Top Five country hit in 1999. Feek continued to write for other artists, including Mark Wills, Kenny Chesney, Terri Clark, Randy Travis, Lorrie Morgan and Tracy Byrd. In 2004, Feek achieved his first Number One as a songwriter when Blake Shelton topped the country charts with "Some Beach." Also in 2004, Feek founded the Giantslayer Records label. In 2008, Feek and his wife founded a duo called Joey + Rory. They came in third place on the CMT talent show, "Can You Duet." Rory's first solo album, "Gentle Man," was released on June 18, 2021. As a filmmaker and storyteller, Feek wrote and edited his docu-series, "This Life I Live" (RFD-TV, 2020). As an author, Rory Feek has written two memoirs and several children's books.
