Rosalind Ayres was a big screen film actress known for powerful performances. Ayres had an early acting career in film, appearing in such titles as "Little Malcolm and His Struggle Against the Eunuchs" (1974) with John Hurt, "That'll Be the Day" (1974) and "Stardust" (1975) with David Essex. She also appeared in the adaptation "The Slipper and the Rose" (1976) with Richard Chamberlain and the drama "The Weather in the Streets" (1983) with Michael York. She had an early role on the television special "Country Matters I" (PBS, 1974-75). Her passion for acting continued to her roles in projects like the historical drama "New World" (1986) with James Fox and the dramatic adaptation "Black Beauty" (1994) with Sean Bean. She also appeared in the TV special "The Cinder Path" (PBS, 1994-95). More recently, she tackled roles in the dramatic adaptation "Gods and Monsters" (1998) with Ian McKellen, "Beautiful People" (2000) and the Tim Vahle comedy "Christmas in the Clouds" (2005). Most recently, Ayres acted on "Childrens Hospital" (Cartoon Network, 2009-).
