Sarah Stiles was an American actress who first made a name for herself with her prolific work on the stage, before branching out into film and television. Born on June 20, 1979, in Massachusetts, Stiles grew up in New Hampshire. She started acting at the age of twelve, appearing in theater productions in Portsmouth, NH. Stiles attended high school at Coe-Brown Northwood Academy, and spent her summer vacations working at the Prescott Park Arts Festival in Portsmouth. After high school, Stiles moved to New York City, where she studied acting at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. She got her big break in 2003, when she was cast in the roles of Kate Monster and Lucy the Slut in the hugely popular puppet-themed musical "Avenue Q," which was running Off-Broadway at the time, but well on its way tom becoming a Tony-winning sensation. Stiles continued to work steadily in theater after "Avenue Q" ended, most notably playing Joanne in a 2008 revival of "Vanities, A New Musical" at the Pasadena Playhouse in Pasadena, CA. The following year, she went back to the New York with the show, marking the first time that "Vanities" was ever staged on the East Coast. Stiles earned rave reviews, as well as a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Play, for her work in the 2015 production of "Hand to God." For her next move, Stiles landed her first TV gig, joining the cast of the series adaptation of the Elmore Leonard-based crime comedy "Get Shorty" (EPIX, 2017-). She followed this up by making her film debut, appearing in Steven Soderbergh's low budget psychological horror film "Unsane" (2018), which was shot entirely on an iPhone.
