Shane Gillis
American comedian Shane Gillis was born on December 11, 1987 in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania as Shane Michael Gillis. He played football through school, eventually graduating from West Chester University in Pennsylvania. He started performing stand-up comedy locally in 2012. He won the "Philly's Phunniest" tournament in 2016 at the Helium Comedy Club. Also in 2016, Gillis started a podcast with fellow comedian Matt McCusker: "Matt and Shane's Secret Podcast" (2016-20). He grew wider recognition for himself as a guest on various radio shows and podcasts. In 2019 he was featured at Comedy Central's Clusterfest and performed as an "Up Next" comedian. He was also labeled as a "New Face" at the Montreal Just For Laughs Festival in 2019. The accolades helped earn him a spot in the cast of Saturday Night Live in 2019, however he was quickly removed when video surfaced of Gillis making inappropriate comments on his podcast. In 2020, Gillis moved on and started a sketch comedy web series called "Gilly and Keeves". He released his first comedy special on YouTube, "Shane Gillis: Live in Austin" in 2021. Following that success, he put out his second comedy special "Shane Gillis: Beautiful Dogs" (2023) on Netflix.
