Shannon Farnon

Though Shannon Farnon worked as an actress, mostly in one-off roles on prime time television shows and a few films toward the beginning and latter half of her career, she is most known for her voice work as Wonder Woman in the majority of the "Super Friends" series incarnations. This Hanna-Barbera animated series started with "Super Friends" in 1973, which was about a team of DC comic book superheroes that included Superman, Robin, Batman, Aquaman, and of course, Wonder Woman. In fact, it was this first run of the series that inspired the live-action "Wonder Woman" series, starring Lynda Carter. In the 1977 run, "The All-New Super Friends Hour," the format shifted so that each main hero was given his own short, and in the 1978 run, "Challenge of the SuperFriends," the run time of the series was split to combine both types of formats. Wonder Woman was usually featured as part of the team in the first half, with the second half more focused on the antagonists to the superhero team, as well as the addition of more minor superhero characters. In 1979 "The World's Greatest SuperFriends" reverted back to the original format until the following run, from 1980 to 1983, again called "Super Friends," which was divided into seven-minute shorts. In 1984, Farnon's stint as Wonder Woman ended when producers gave the part away to Constance Caufield--who also had her part taken away later on and given to B.J. Ward.
