Stephen Geoffreys
One of the most iconic figures of the 80s horror boom, Stephen Geoffreys had a very strange career trajectory after his popularity peaked. Born in Ohio, Geoffreys attended a performing arts high school and moved to New York City to study acting at NYU. He found success on the Broadway stage, and was nominated for a Tony in 1984 for "The Human Condition." He won a Theatre World Award the same year. His first film role was in 1985's prep school drama "Heaven Help Us," but he had his breakthrough part the same year in vampire horror movie "Fright Night," in which he played the manic "Evil Ed." In 1986, he co-starred in "At Close Range" with Sean Penn, and spent the rest of the decade appearing in a number of other films like "976-Evil." For some reason, Geoffreys refused to appear in the "Fright Night" sequel, and his acting prospects quickly dried up. For reasons that have yet to be explained, Geoffreys began appearing in gay-oriented adult movies under the names "Sam Ritter" and "Stephan Bordeaux." That was his primary activity throughout the 1990s, but he returned to legitimate movies with 2007 independent horror film "Sick Girl." He also writes short stories and enjoys bodybuilding.
