Teenage Charley Brewster is a horror-film junkie, so it's no surprise that when a reclusive new neighbor moves next-door, Brewster becomes convinced he's a vampire. It's also no surprise when nobody believes him. After strange events begin to occur, Charlie has no choice but to turn to the only person who could possibly help: washed-up television vampire killer Peter Vincent.

Tom Holland’s Fright Night uses the trappings of old-fashioned monster movies to explore sexual terrain that’s decidedly from the 1980s. Go to Full Review

As silly as it may be, it is never silly enough to expect you to take it seriously. Go to Full Review

It's fun, mainly because it doesn't take itself too seriously. Go to Full Review

I wholeheartedly believe “Fright Night” to be an underrated classic...It’s driven by a fabulous collection of characters, an unabashedly fun story, some deliciously gory effects, and a steady seasoning of good humor. Go to Full Review

Oct 18 80’s classic, I first seen this movie as a vhs rental back in 1985, it still holds up See more TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch Jan 3 Fright Night feels like a perfect snapshot of its time, and imagining yourself as a teenager when it first came out helps explain why it resonated so strongly. Back then, it felt fresh, clever, and exciting—a horror film that mixed scares with humor in a way that felt new and playful. Even with its cheesy moments, it was clearly meant to be fun, and that spirit still comes through. Watching it today, however, is a very different experience. The film has undeniably aged, and not in the way some classics age like fine wine. The screenplay carries the issues of its era, and the pacing, effects, and tone feel old-fashioned. Modern audiences, especially younger viewers, may struggle to appreciate it the same way original audiences did because horror has evolved so much since then. That said, within its timeframe, Fright Night is creative, dynamic, and genuinely entertaining. It offers a unique vampire story that balances humor and horror without taking itself too seriously. I love the title. FRIGHT NIGHT!!!!! See more Blu B Nov 6 Perfect blend of campy horror and fun self aware comedy that serves as a love letter to Vampire movies and all the wonderful cliches that make it up. Anyone that's a big fan of vampire movie history will catchy so many winks, nods, and easter eggs littered throughout. What makes this work so well on top of being so well executed is the self awareness that something like a Commando (1985) has. It never takes iself too serious but also has genuine scares and disturbing parts while also being fun too. It's never too dark or too comedic. It walks that line perfectly. Acting is really good and the dialouge is really well done. Charlie isn't the most memorable horror hero really but overall everyone is memorable here. The special effects my goodness are first rate all around and look incredible. The editing is masterful as well. Everyone should give this a try once. It's a lot of fun and just the right balance of laughs and fear. All Time Classic. See more e6e6e e Oct 23 Fright Night blends scares and humour perfectly, with memorable performances and 80s charm. That makes it classic, thrilling, and highly entertaining See more Read all reviews
