Tom Trbovich
Director Tom Trbovich began his career directing Bette Midler for "The Bette Midler Show," a television special in 1976, and he directed another comedian's special with "The Chevy Chase National Humor Test" in 1979. In 1981, Trbovich directed Tom Hanks and Peter Scolari in one episode of the cross-dressing comedy show "Bosom Buddies," and he directed two episodes of "Joanie Loves Chachi" in 1982. In that same year, Trbovich was again entrusted with a television special for a famed comedian, this time Lily Tomlin for the show "Lily for President?." From 1981 to 1983, Trbovich directed over 30 episodes of the female buddy show "Laverne and Shirley," starring Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams, and he also directed a television movie of "The Velveteen Rabbit" in 1984. Trbovich directed the famous "We Are the World" TV special in 1985, and in 1986, he directed five episodes of the television version of "Nine to Five" and did two shows for "Newhart" before directing one episode of the relentlessly wholesome "Full House" in 1987.
