Vernel Bagneris
Vernel Bagneris found incredible success as an accomplished actor, appearing in a variety of films throughout his Hollywood career. Early on, Bagneris mostly landed roles in various films, including "French Quarter" (1978), the Steve Martin musical "Pennies From Heaven" (1981) and "Down By Law" (1986). He had an early role on the television special "The Gift of Amazing Grace" (ABC, 1986-87). He kept working in film throughout the nineties and the early 2000s, starring in the Jamie Foxx dramatic musical "Ray" (2004) and the historical drama "Proud" (2005) with Ossie Davis. He also appeared in the TV special "A Marriage: Georgia O'Keeffe and Alfred Stieglitz" (PBS, 1990-91). He also lent his voice to "Jazz" (PBS, 2000-01). Most recently, Bagneris worked on "Bessie" (HBO, 2014-15).
