William Mervyn
William Mervyn was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Mervyn began his acting career with roles in such films as "Carve Her Name With Pride" (1958) with Virginia McKenna, "A Touch of Larceny" (1960) with James Mason and "Tamahine" (1963). He also appeared in the comedic adaptation "Agent 8 3/4" (1965) with Dirk Bogarde. He continued to work steadily in film throughout the sixties, appearing in "Operation Crossbow" (1965), "Deadlier Than the Male" (1967) and "Hot Millions" (1968) with Peter Ustinov. Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the Sammy Davis Jr. comedy "Salt and Pepper" (1968), the Dinah Sheridan drama "The Railway Children" (1970) and the Peter O'Toole comedy adaptation "The Ruling Class" (1972). Mervyn more recently acted in the musical comedy "The Bawdy Adventures of Tom Jones" (1976) with Nicky Henson. Mervyn passed away in August 1976 at the age of 64.
