In the eighties and the nineties, Pickett devoted his time to various credits, such as "American Boyfriends" (1989) starring Margaret Langrick, "Road House" (1989), "Mystery Date" (1991) starring Ethan Hawke and "Crisscross" with Goldie Hawn (1992). In the nineties through the early 2000s, Pickett lent his talents to projects like "Mother" (1996) starring Paul Collins, "My Fellow Americans" with Jack Lemmon (1996), "Blues Brothers 2000" (1998), "Only the Strong Survive" (2003) starring William Bell and "Talk to Me" (2007).
