The Rivals of Amziah King feels like it’s been made with love. It’s so alive, confident, boisterous; such a rich evocation of a tight-knit, small-town community. Go to Full Review

A wilfully convoluted tall tale, the movie aims to give us a bit of everything, starting as a rowdy comedy, developing into a vigilante thriller, then shifting gears once more for the sentimental finish. Go to Full Review

Matthew McConaughey is at his rascally best as a beekeeper, musician, fighter, dad and champion of misfits, but the scattershot movie runs away from him. Go to Full Review

This genre-bending indie gem starring Matthew McConaughey is wholly unique, incredibly charming, and has a few moments of genuine "movies don't get any better than this" transcendence. Go to Full Review

Wildly uneven but undeniably original, this is the kind of ambitious swing that’s far more exciting than another polished retread. Go to Full Review

Many viewers will come to this movie for McConaughey, but everyone leaving Azmiah King will be buzzing (no pun intended) about [Angelina LookingGlass]. Go to Full Review

Zachary M 14h It’s a slow burn. It’s got some GREAT comedy bits I wasn’t expecting and enjoyed thoroughly. The story started out intriguing but then turned into something more intimate rather than the slow burn crime / thriller I thought it was going to be. I did enjoy how the story played out but was left wanting more. For what it is it’s perfect but the story could have been a thriller like I wanted it to be. The music was something I did NOT see coming. Right out of the gate, the movie opens up with the tonal setting that we experience in the best way possible. Live musicians (sorta) which sets the whole movie. I commend the film for that but just wish that certain characters were in the movie longer. See more Janice R 22h The acting was great! Cant beat a movie with BOTH Matthew AND Kurt! See more Jeff 1d A honey coated honky tonk delight! A new age Western on community, legacy, revenge, and sweet tunes. See more Laura 1d Hilarity, laconic Matt McC, mysteries, murders, honey! And Kurt Russell as a bad guy!??! See more Peter 1d I loved Rivals of Amziah King! what a pleasant surprise, a fun wild ride that kept a smile on my face, made me laugh out loud and shocked me at times. I had a lot of fun with this one! See more Jeremy G 1d The first half is better than the second half. In fact, I think the first half is perfect. But the second half was still good too. Matthew McConaughey gives an incredible performance that gives the movie a lot of warmth and charm. Solid story, solid characters. it was quite good. See more Read all reviews
