Audience Member Citizen Dog (Ma Nakhon) is a 2004 Thai romance film directed by Wisit Sasanatieng and based on a novel by Wisit's wife, Koynuch, which was illustrated by him. It stars Mahasamut Boonyaruk and Saengthong Gate-Uthong. It was narrated by Pen-Ek Ratanaruang. Rewat Prelert was the cinematographer. It was edited by Polarat Kitikunpairoj. It was distributed by Five Star Production. The film had a budget of 60 million baht. Vision wrote: "the film is has a resemblance to the French movie Amélie. Admire the cinematography and editing. Dislike the reality of the film. Not so convincing. The satire is off. More like a kids flick. Would have worked without the CGI. Admire the simple stuffed bear. Admire the part where they tried to save the world. Nonetheless, the visuals and focus come out on top. Breathtaking. What an advancement in Thai filmmaking. Two and half fries for trying." Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 06/06/25 Full Review Audience Member A good movie, but it you can literally "feel" the director straining to be "odd" and "cool" --- "Cool" should be a natural thing -- not so heavy-labored. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member A Thai version of Amélie. Yes,I Like This Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member A Thai version of Amélie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Amazing movie. So European like... I can kinda relate it to Amélie, what with the narrating going in the background, but quite a buzzing movie for the comedy hungry. :-) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member A Stylist Contemporary Thai Film.
