      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Uneven media satire on how far TV will go to secure ratings. Unfortunately it's neither as funny or as sharp as it hopes to be.

Audience Member Purely for the shock factor Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie was crazy crazy crazy. It started off kinda cheezy and I wasn't expecting it to get much better, but the last 30 minutes turned into a jaw dropping, sweating with anxiety, edge of your seat thrill. It was hard to watch and I had to pause it many times because my blood pressure redlined. This is not the kind of movie I would go around recommending because of it's subject matter, but I must shamefully admit that I enjoyed it. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Highly recommend. Shot documentary style and from previews, presumably low budget. Intense plot that becomes more suspenseful with every minute. Great character development. I can't believe this didn't receive more publicity. Mendes is incredible in this film, as well as the rest of the cast...particularly David Krumholtz. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Wow what a concept. A drive to get to the top pushing the limits of a would you situation Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Very intriguing and almost scary. Funny, too. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie is psychotic, and keeps you at the edge of a fucked up seat Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Derek Malcolm London Evening Standard There is a big problem in believing any of it, but a certain amount of fun watching television's more ghastly denizens wonder whether murder will improve the ratings. It does. Rated: 2/5 Sep 19, 2008 Full Review Cath Clarke Guardian Triumphs, humiliation, barmy monologues and temper tantrums - reality television is scarcely in need of parodying. Certainly not from a preachy film like this. Rated: 1/5 Sep 19, 2008 Full Review James Christopher Times (UK) Bill Guttentag's film is one of those shrill and cheery conspiracies on the wilder side of probability. But the black comedy has an infectious pace, and screwy logic. Rated: 3/5 Sep 19, 2008 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews A surprisingly plausible mockumentary... Rated: 2.5/4 Jul 11, 2010 Full Review David Edwards Daily Mirror (UK) Mendes (best known as Will Smith's love interest in Hitch) is enjoyably poisonous, making Live! just about worth catching. Rated: 3/5 Sep 19, 2008 Full Review Jane Crowther Total Film This crass, inauthentic mock-doc exposing the evils of reality shows and the venality of TV honchos manages both to bore and insult simultaneously.
