A group of archaeologists inadvertently releases an ancient alien killing machine in an isolated town in New Mexico. The monstrous creature causes a car accident, forcing the closing of the only road in and out of the town. The local sheriff, Annie Flynn (Emmanuelle Vaugier), investigates the crash site, which reveals a giant, severed, animal-like limb. Later that night, Annie visits a secluded gas station, where she's forced to battle the creature that caused the accident.

Steve Biodrowski ESplatter The director compliments the muddled lighting with shaky camera work and rapid-fire editing that make most of the action scenes completely incomprehensible. Audience Member Am a genre fan in biggest way. This is not a B movie, it takes itself seriously. It’s one of the worst movie I’ve watched start to finish in a LONG time. Please save yourself from this putrid script. Thought actors did what could in situations but this is REALLY bad. I would give lower score but I heard they don’t register your rating if you go below one star 🌟 or something idk Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/28/21 Full Review Audience Member Unearthed (2007): 7 out of 10 Unearthed has two strikes against it. The monster is an outright Alien rip-off complete with bad very CGI. They just would have been better off not showing it. The other strike is for a film some seriously attractive actresses (Emmanuelle Vaugier, Beau Garrett, Miranda Bailey, Whitney Able, and heck even cute older Deborah Offner) there is no T and A. This seems silly for what is, in essence, an exploitation movie. Outside of those faults, this is a better than an average monster romp. The direction is tight and creative. The acting is professional across the board. The film looks good although it tends to be too dark at times. The action scenes have some bite. Anyone who has spent some time with the grade Z five guys vs. a cartoon monster on the SciFi Channel will appreciate an above-board effort. Good gore and great action make Unearthed a worth watching. Just wish they explored the sexual tension between the twenty-something lady sheriff and the twenty-something lady scientist. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member I really feel like I just wasted 1 1/2 hours of my life that I can't get back. And probably will waste another hour wondering why I kept watching. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Good actors but story line and plot sucked air. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member some super life form, but at the end human turns out smarter anyway. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review don s I liked this low-budget horror/creature feature. It would have been more effective if the creature looked less like castoffs from the set of Aliens, but that is a small quibble. The acting was better than average, and the setting, in the desert with a bit of Native American culture, played right into my interests. The story is predictable, and the characters are stereotypical, but it played out well. Really liked the grit shown by the Sheriff, played by Emmanuelle Vaugier. It will cause me to seek out more of her stuff. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
