I really enjoyed this Australian documentary which explores Vivaldi's famous work 'The Four Seasons'. Four amazing violinists (from Tokyo, Australia, New York and Finland) are selected to perform the season most identifiable with their region. We learn about their life as a musician, their culture and how their environment and life is affected by the season. The music is great and the cinematography is gorgeous, particularly in Japan. It feels like an artful and intimate insight into people, places and music.

This was a very beautiful film, sometimes moving (purely on the strength of certain movements of the music), and certainly enlightening - teaching me a lot and giving me a new perspective on some places in the world I've never been to. I was almost moved to tears in brief moments, again, more b/c of the music, which was powerfully and magnificently performed by the 4 main players. A lovely documentary.

Enjoyed this movie - great to get the frank thoughts of musicians, their interpretation then see how they express it in their music. Great difference between Finland and Japan in spring.
