Apesar de muito musicais (não sou fã) eu geralmente amo os filmes de Bollywood, mas esse não que apeteceu, linda fotografia, cores vibrantes, figurino impecavelmente lindo, o romance água com açúcar não me convenceu, nem a presença do meu queridinho Ranbir Kapoor me conquistou… Brevemente baseada no conto "Noite Branca" de Fyodor Dostoyevsky, bonitinho, não tão encantador quanto outras obras de Bollywood… Regular...

'Saawariya' is a lovely experience. Not only does it feel brilliant to be in this audaciously fascinating fantasia of the old-school love, but it's rendered and charmingly lived-in soul is just the thought good we want to be served. The movie released way ahead of its time and just memerizes me now. I loved it and I think you will too if you take another perspective.

Just boring, not entertaining or at the least fun. Other than all of that, which could've been in the movie, you get a two hour movie made on a set, which doesn't help at all and just ruins the movie further.

Based on a Dostoevsky's White Nights, Saawariya is a vibrant musical romance film that out stays its welcome with its long running time. The characters are there and the songs are entertaining, but everything seems stretched out to the maximum. The most memorable thing is the main character Raj, and his quest to have the beautiful Sakina as his bride. The costumes, set design, and cinematography outshine everything else in this bloated but colourful Bollywood film.

Mukerji’s brief but stellar role as a sex worker – there’s so much to take away from the film. Bhansali hasn’t ventured that far out into the unforgiving cold since then, but if he does, this will be both his reference point as well as his warning sign.
