Paul Byrnes Sydney Morning Herald Here, the background of grief helps: it deepens the characterisation, so that the emotion feels earned. Yet there is sentimentality here, leavened by Menahemi's understated humour and sense of purpose. Rated: 3.5/5 Jun 26, 2009 Full Review Julie Rigg MovieTime, ABC Radio National It has warmth and real insight. Jun 19, 2009 Full Review Dov Kornits FILMINK (Australia) By the time the film reaches its lump-in-the-throat conclusion, you'll be glad to have discovered this touching and universal story. Jun 19, 2009 Full Review Margaret Pomeranz At the Movies (Australia) You don't want to examine the contrivances of plot too closely but all the strands come together in a tense and emotionally satisfying climax. This is a perfect film for audiences who want to avoid confronting cinema. Rated: 3.5/5 Jun 19, 2009 Full Review Louise Keller Urban Cinefile It's an enjoyable feel-good story that builds up slowly but delivers plenty of emotional zing with a joyous pay-off that takes us as high as the plane that travels from Tel Aviv to Beijing. Audience Member ??? ??????? ?????? ?????? ? ????, ?? ??????? ???????????! ? ???-?? ????? ??-??????????. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the best Israeli films I have seen. Wish it were more readily available Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member My expectations for this film were actually not that high, and the first half hour or so didn't do much to exceed them. It seemed a predictable storyline... but then I felt myself more and more drawn into the film as it went on, more so than I have felt for a long time. I want to avoid spoilers, but there were a couple of moments where I couldn't breathe with the tension... It was an adorable, really touching film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member A gem from Israel that really worths a look. The story, though not very innovative, it's very sensitive and touching. It works as a drama and as a comedy, the movie is agile, clear, beautiful and entertaining. The relationship between the chinese little boy and Miri, the widow, seems honest because the performances are great. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Tierna, con momentos emotivos y otros bastante cómicos. Nunca había visto una película israelita, me pareció bastante interesante.
