James Berardinelli ReelViews The storyline is tedious, following an expected trajectory with an obligatory ending. There’s no suspense and little in the way of atmosphere. Nathan G This was the first and best of the Angel movies. The lead actress was more likable and exciting the new girl they got to play Angel. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/03/24 Full Review Demented N Not a bad little movie well worth a watch could have been a lot better but after all it is a new world pictures movie and this is their citizen cane of pictures. I guess I'll fill you in on the plot because the trailer doesn't do it but the trailer is still quite good. But if you were to watch the movie based on the trailer it would be a totally different vibe by the end result. Angel lives with her mom but her mom leaves her/runs away, she doesn't tell anyone because there's a big chance she will have to go into an orphanage, she is a student by day and a hooker by night to make money to live. She makes a few friends along the way on Hollywood Boulevard who look after her. A crazy Zodiac killer starts bumping of her friends and acquaintances that she knows from the streets and than starts to hunt her down! She escapes him twice and than snaps "why am I running he should be running" she than become the hunter rather the hunted, the police try and chase her down because the person involved in the case is a really nice cop and he doesn't want to see her spend the rest of her life in prison. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/24/23 Full Review Steve D I was hoping for far more girl power than exploitation. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 08/24/23 Full Review Henry B A very well-crafted story with some excellent performances. It's the kind of film that "sticks" with you. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/13/22 Full Review Kensi B I have no idea how I saw this fabulously trashy movie when I was a kid but I loved it. Just saw it again recently (Tubi) and thought it held up really well. Just the kind of fun, trashy film you can't make anymore, but it also had some damn fine acting - and the death scene of the drag queen Mae as he's consoled by his frenemy Solly is quite touching - filled with the kind of brash humor we used to have in the 80s and a lot of genuine tenderness. I still have zero idea how I would have seen this at such a young age! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/15/22 Full Review Audience Member Fantastic! So much works here on a B movie level! Great villain, fun supporting characters and a slightly well-portrayed emotional back story for Angel. B++ 80s flick Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/14/21 Full Review Read all reviews
