Richard Whittaker Austin Chronicle Take away the creeping sense of supernatural dread, and what remains is a low-key tale of a mourning family, made more tender by the broken stoicism of the survivors. Oct 23, 2020 Full Review Chris Stuckmann ChrisStuckmann.com This is an underappreciated, underseen gem. Rated: A Oct 16, 2019 Full Review Russell Edwards Variety Ghostly shenanigans are dryly delivered in the ambitious, restrained and well-mounted Oz mockumentary "Lake Mungo." Jul 6, 2010 Full Review Chris Ward Flickering Myth Lake Mungo draws you in with convincing performances, an authentic true crime documentary format and some creepy, suggestive imagery - it is just a shame that it doesn't maintain the strong macabre atmosphere until the very end Jun 18, 2021 Full Review Rob Aldam Backseat Mafia A fascinating ghost story which uses elements of the supernatural to enhance what is, at its heart, a family drama. Jun 3, 2021 Full Review Tim Brayton Alternate Ending One of the horror genre's smartest and most innovative films of the 2000s. Rated: 4/5 Aug 22, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews

Kimberly S I come back to this movie often. It gives a sense of dread and has some great twists. The story is horrible but believable and the acting is fantastic. Definitely in my top ten of it's genre. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/26/24 Full Review Sermph L I'm sorry but this movie was so boring. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 07/17/24 Full Review Audience Member I genuinely wanted to enjoy this film after hearing just how amazing it was, but after watching it, it was definitely overhyped. I was expecting a horror thriller but i think it would be better to think of this movie as a true crime documentary instead. It was a meh from me but still worth a watch. Take a chance on the movie but don't get sucked into all the hype. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/13/24 Full Review Trevor B Lake Mungo is the scariest movie/documentary I have ever seen in my life. I had to shut it off once at night and I don't get scared easily. I definitely recommend this movie/documentary!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/30/24 Full Review Kiara T If you're looking for a classic horror movie, this is not the place. While spoiling as little as possibl, what you will get is a heartfelt movie about a girl and her family with horrifying moments sparkled. You won't be shaking with fear, but the dread i certainly there. I won't forget this movie soon, and it probably needs a second watch to be truly appreciated but it is worth your while. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/28/24 Full Review Blayne M An excellent movie for a slow burning horror movie that goes against the grain of typical horror.
