Take away the creeping sense of supernatural dread, and what remains is a low-key tale of a mourning family, made more tender by the broken stoicism of the survivors. Go to Full Review

Kevin L @Lakeman Apr 30 A quality piece of filmmaking by Joel Anderson. Surprised he hasn't done more directing since. Impressive mix of 'found footage' material, photo/video mixed effects manipulation, and appropriate tone. The acting was very effective in this mockumentary style. Helps sell the realism of the subject matter. There are some muddled bits, scenes that basically repeat previous moments that seem redundant. Not sure the subplot w/ the neighbors is needed as it really deadends, but I suppose it does reinforce the idea of Alice keeping secrets. 3.8 stars See more ImaHeadOut T @RT14774186 Apr 27 The fact that the audience score is so low, only reinforces the idea that most of you people are subhuman. See more Tim M @tgmacman Apr 26 Unweaving a tantalizing supernatural mystery, Lake Mungo is a well paced and sometimes chilling horror mockumentary. See more sandra K @Mingo88 Apr 11 Story moves as slowly as molasses; tho' VG acting by all. Never scary at all, so sadly, i just wasted 1.5 hours on it. See more Luke A @LHAsenior Mar 31 Deeply unsettling. Very believable feel and vibe to it. Truly think this is a must for anyone who loves horror and anyone who wants to be involved in the production of it. Easily up there with movies like The Thing. See more Shoham C @Chara331 Mar 21 This movie isn't for the weak, the reason i gave it a 4 stars. everything else in this film is fantastic, not only is it emotional but the end credit reveal is genuinely petrifying. the doppleganger scene is one of the scariest scenes I've ever seen in a horror movie, it's disturbing and captures what she feels perfectly. If it wasn't for me trying to agree with all the other people, 10/10, would definitely rewatch. See more Read all reviews
