Audience Member An erotic film about a boy's involvement with a school teacher. When the mother passes away, the teacher begins to question about the relationship, especially about the young guy's commitment to him. Nicely done in an artistic way, using black and white presentation. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member i was surprised by how well Solos turned out to be. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member The movie centers around three characters, a gay couple comprised of a teacher and his student and the third character which is the student's mother. As the movie begins we see the demise of the gay relationship as the teacher returns the student to his mother's house. From there the movie takes place in flashback and works its way back to the beginning of the film. In flashback you will learn how the three relationships intertwine the dynamics between them and what causes the final outcome of the film. The movie is shot with a dull gray quality illustrating the somber tone of the film. Only during moments when the characters are fantasizing are the colors more bright and vivid. At just over one hour and seven minutes the characters in the movie never speak a word of dialogue.Just as color is mostly stripped from the film so is verbal language. They may at times use cell phones or interact with one another but you never hear their voices. The only sounds they make are when they cry or make other guttural sounds whether from pain or pleasure. The movie would be silent without the cries, environmental noises and limited use of music. Still the plot is easy to follow given the characters body language and actions which provide you everything you need to know to understand what is happening and why. This film is for the patient that do not need every plot development handed to them on a silver platter Hollywood style. The plot unravels in a quiet and mostly colorless fashion but still it is a beautiful film in content and in visual style.
