Gary D 12/15/2023 Great cast, interesting story. Definitely worth watching. See more 09/01/2021 Too long... a boring, slow narrative about people who can't think strategically. Could have been far better. See more 09/27/2015 Arch of Triumph is not a bad film but it does not come together well. I can recommend it to those that enjoy films from that era. As a romance I do not believe it works and do not find the co-stars to be a good pairing. The leading man is stiff and is no Bogart or Grant. Despite the disappointment, I don't want to take away too much from the film as it did keep my interest throughout. See more 08/19/2015 It's the story of a refugee--a relatively privileged refugee, it must be said--though it still gives a sense of the difficulties of being a refugee. And it's a love story, a mature love story, which is a nice change from the usual sort of Hollywood love story. But it's a love story which interrupts and takes over a story of the fight against nazism/fascism--thus seeing nazism/fascism as a problem insofar as it interferes with love (romance, domesticity). See more 01/21/2015 A true Hollywood classic that's worth adding to your collection. See more 09/25/2014 Mainly a love story agains the backdrop of a Europe heading for disaster at the end of the 30's. It does get melodramatic in parts but the strength of Charles Boyer and Ingrid Bergman's performances keep this moving along nicely. See more Read all reviews
