A police officer who has been wrongly dismissed from his job, Frank Dooley (John Candy) finds work as a security guard, along with Norman Kane (Eugene Levy), an inept lawyer. Unfortunately, the company that employs Frank and Norman is involved in some shady dealings, and it's up to the bumbling guards to foil the plans of the corrupt leaders, most notably tough mobster Michael Carlino (Robert Loggia), who isn't happy to have his profitable scheme threatened.

Don't think I have seen "Armed and Dangerous" before, but I understand why now. With John Candy, Eugene Levy, the lovely Meg Ryan and Harold Ramis connected to this film you would think there's a platform at least. But, the story is a mess, the direction a mess, the performances a mess and it's just a mess period. Unfunny and forced humour, pointless scenes, no chemistry between the leads and really poor dialogue. Even Harold Ramis wanted his writing credit removed from the film after watching the final cut. That says a lot. This is an 80s stinker.

Panned by critics,adored by SCTV fans. Sure movies like this were a dime a dozen at the time but the comedic pairing of Candy and Levy along with the always gorgeous Meg Ryan in her prime make it well worth a watch. Love the Railsback appearance too. Good harmless action packed comedy fun !

Not a great movie but a fun popcorn movie from the mid 80s and the action is good the characters does the job with what they have to deal with and Candy has a good funny timing with Levy a kind of buddy cop movie but they are security guards!

Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom

I don't know why these other users are giving such a low rating to this piece of art. The cast is STACKED! John Candy punches a woman and a dog. He shoots a shark. SO MANY CARS GET WRECKED IN THIS! Steve Railsback is dressed like a cowboy. What's not to love about this? Listen to me, not these other joyless people.
