Jon S 11/14/2024 Teen star Kristy McNichol took a big chance with this one, eradicating her tomboy persona and creating a complicated (if muted) character, a flautist tied to her widower papa but yearning for her independence...and this is before she's attacked in her rental and ultimately stabs the intruder. Beautifully-designed slow-burn thriller has a terrific score, rich cinematography, and fine performances.
