A hippie radical, Huey Walker (Dennis Hopper) has been a fugitive for decades, accused of a crime that he may not have committed. Finally apprehended, Walker is escorted to trial by uptight 20-something FBI agent John Buckner (Kiefer Sutherland). While the two seem to be polar opposites, it turns out that Buckner may have more in common with Walker than is initially apparent, a point that is driven home when the pair faces off against a sinister small-town sheriff (Cliff De Young).

I'm reluctant to say what does happen, because the movie takes such an interesting U-turn into what develops into a halfway serious contrast between the values of the summer of love and the greed of the Me Decade. Go to Full Review

…Flashback is no masterpiece, but it’s a good-humoured and politically knowing film that might just find a few new converts with a fresh new print on streaming and two lively stars to pull them in… Go to Full Review

Flashback offers no meaningful evaluation of the '60s or the '80s, though it tries to leave you with something monumental. Go to Full Review

Robert R Jan 19 The movie starts out weird, as does Huey Walker (Dennis Hopper). As Huey and FBI Agent John Buckner's (Kiefer Sutherland) characters develop, so does the movie's intrigue. It's good and clean, not overburdened with sex and violence as are most modern productions. Good background music is a bonus. I give it a 4 1/2 of 5. Enjoy! Old hippies might even bump it to a 5. See more 07/01/2014 A fun movie for those of us from the 60's See more 05/17/2013 For the most part it was utterly ludicrous and implausible, but the performance by Dennis Hopper makes it still fun to watch. See more 12/05/2012 Dennis Hopper plays a 1960s radical, on the run for a crime he didn't commit, and FBI man Kiefer Sutherland tries to bring Hopper to justice. A wonderful nostalgic look at the memorable 1960s era, in a heartwarming, interesting, and inspiring tale. See more 09/24/2012 I live this movie, rotten tomatoes needs to get it.
