Bob C I enjoyed it and agree with some of the "civilian" reviewers. I also took friends on a tour of the location sites where some of the scenes were shot. Winkler and Field are charismatic and have a nice chemistry. The movie is about a Vietnam vet four years after the war, and it's fascinating and heartbreaking to see how those vets were treated at the time, and satisfying as hell to see Jack get his happy ending. A good thinker for sure. Winkler is flat-out riveting every moment he's on camera.
