Audience Member You know, I always thought that this movie had Joan Collins in it. And yeah, it does. But it also doesn't. That's because the day before the film's premiere, Collins — along with Betty Thomas, Carrie Snodgress and Lee Purcell who said they made the movie under false pretenses, not knowing it was going to be a sex comedy — took legal action to get their names removed from this movie. Collins claimed that the film's advertising was misleading and she was right. That's because she had only performed in a minor supporting role shot two whole years earlier in the time before Dynasty made her a big star. Homework now had her in a sex scene with an obvious body double and that image was featured in all of the advertising until a federal court ordered those ads to stop. Jensen Farley Pictures, you did it again. This may be the only movie that James Beshears ever directed, but he also edited Luigi Cozzi's Hercules and The Incredible Melting Man. Recently, he's served as the editorial and post-production executive on animated movies like The Boss Baby, Trolls and the Shrek films. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Harmlessly bad, though seemingly an influence on many 80's teen comedies. The STD science class film was pretty hilarious (and real??). Released two weeks after Fast Times. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Tommy thinks about sex a lot. Now his grades are suffering. Fortunately Sheila's mom is looking for meat and not the kind at the corner deli. Teenage coming of age film has likable enough characters but an unfocused plot. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member An average 80s teen sex movie. It's not a comedy, though, I'd like to say. It would have been better if it was. Still, it's watchable, and realistic. The structure of the stories reminds me of Fast Times at Ridgemont: a group of teens who want to start a rock band and find love, but have to overcome various obstacles. The actors are okay, they're just normal teenagers who act like normal teenagers, and it works well enough, but no one really stands out as a great actor. Plus, the ending was a bit of a let down after everything, as it leaves loose ends. Overall, an okay movie. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Hard to tell what this film really wants to be about, with a few meandering subplots around a group of teens that lacks any focus. Shelved for three years until Collins' Dynasty success took hold. Director Beshears would not be allowed to direct again.
