Mike P Very average iteration of the Samuel Clemmens classic: retains Jeff East from the 1973 Sherman Brothers hit Tom Sawyer...The songs are awkward; and this interpretation lacks punch. (Alot of critics criticized this for being a musical...But they're forgetting there was a hit, critically acclaimed version of this story that came out on Broadway in 85 called Big River. So it CAN be done...Just not like this...)Overall: not recommended Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/03/24 Full Review Bill L. R I thought it was good, clean, entertainment. Acting was good, plot was what I expected . Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/17/23 Full Review Audience Member The greatest 01 hour: and 58 minutes ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review ashley h Huckleberry Finn is a disappointing film. It is about Huckleberry Finn who escapes his humdrum world by sailing a raft down the Mississippi River. Jeff East and Paul Winfield give terrible performances. The screenplay is badly written. J. Lee Thompson did a horrible job directing this movie. I was not impressed with this motion picture. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Mildly watchable and mildly entertaining, but I didn't stop watching. On its own light fare. Considering that this is considered the greatest literary work from Americas greatest writer, then the id a bit shoddy. Matt Brunson Film Frenzy Stripped of its source's thorny -- and highly controversial -- themes, Huckleberry Finn opts instead to play up the slapstick, with decidedly mixed results. Rated: 2.5/4 Nov 3, 2021 Full Review Bernard Drew Gannett News Service Somewhere, perhaps, there may be a sunny, sweetly-disposed, easy-to-please. four-and-a-half-year-old who will be entranced by the new musical version of Mark Twain's Huckleberry Finn. But for the rest of us, it is a long, long tote.
