The first movie that comes to mind when talking about both 80s action movies and Cannon (The Last American Virgin, Shy People) it’s an laughable bad thriller that has mediocre direction by Joseph Zito (The Prowler) and proves that Chuck Norris (Silent Rage) both cannot act or write an good screenplay

Very much a mid eighties, Reagan era one man army movie (co-written by star Chuck Norris) which wears it's zenophobic politics on both sleives but politics aside I enjoyed this America can do no wrong action flick. Director Zito who also did Missing in Action with Chuck and latterly Red Scorpion with big Dolph Lundgren knows how to handle the action as does the main man Norris. There's some gloriously great eighties style lines, the indestructible Norris in double denim, a totally over the top villain (who hatches the worst planned invasion in history) in Richard Lynch and lots of explosive set pieces which should keep afficionados royally entertained and horrify the woke. Patriotic to a fault, 80's American action cinema with all that entails socially and politically for sure but I still very much enjoyed this unapologetically jingoistic venting from Chuck. Denim with denim with mullet and beard in both look and over the top tone.

Another underrated action movie from the 80s that needs to get more praise than given it's straitforward and has a comprehensible story even if it's not to complex and full of charachter arcs but the main charachter Matt hunter played by chuck norris is a likeable hero and is the police detective agent in this film I was able to tell what the film was about which was about terrorists invading America and how everyone needs to defend themselves the action is exiting and the acting is solid it reminds me of better reviewed movies like Independence Day and lord of the rings because of how it's about being attacked and needing to defend and fight enemies trying to take over your world it's just awesome those critics got this movie wrong it may not have been well reviewed like code of silence and lone wolf mcquade but it still has chuck norris photos all over it especially when you see chuck norris photos of him in movies this also has memorable moments like when a terrorist puts a bomb disguised as a Christmas package and how he gets caught and a shootout fight begins as chuck norris arrives crashing his truck 🛻 inside the mall and how he fights the terrorists with his cool looking double guns I haven't seen in other action movies which is the originality in invasion USA even thought it would be generally not considered too much original as there were other action films like ones with Charles Bronson and bullit with Steve McQueen which this film is basically a more action packed version of its action set piece after action set piece and they are all well staged it's the biggest strength of This film critics themselves should admit that this film is for entertainment and not for hard thinking people it's a fun watch and has cool scenes especially the one when a terrorist tries to bomb a school bus but norris prevents it and brings it back to them killing them in the end invasion USA was a fun action movie that may not have been Oscar award worthy but is still a decent action film from the 80s and I say give it a go it's worth a watch 7.5/10

Given that I'm meeting the man himself in about a week, I thought I better get more acquainted with Chuck Norris' filmography rather quickly, given the only other movie I've seen of his beforehand is Lone Wolf McQuade, and chose Invasion U.S.A. to kick it all off in what is the most Florida Man movie to end all Florida Man movies. Invasion U.S.A. doesn't actually have a plot outside of stuff exploding, guns going pew pew and Chuck Norris sporting the most exquisite mullet and beard combo known to man while not taking any crap from an exquisitely deranged Richard Lynch while attempting to single handily repel the single worst planned invasion in history. It's certainly a movie and perhaps Cannon Films' most well-known one at that, mixing unashamed patriotism, cold war paranoia and astute diplomacy. Despite all that, it's a genuine blast for the entire runtime with Director Joseph Zito delivering utter chaos in the best way imaginable, outrageously over the top and packed to the brim with hammy dialogue, beautiful overacting and utter cheese.

Onde cheguei a assistir diversas vezes. Para quem curte nostalgia da década de 80 vale apena assistir.
Vale apena assistir? Sim para quem curta.

The first in a six-film deal that Chuck Norris signed with Cannon after Missing In Action, this was inspired by Chuck thumbing through Reader's Digest and learning that terrorists — real terrorists — were running loose in the U.S. by the hundreds.
Chuck was interviewed by the Sun Sentinel and his inspiration: "I thought, "Boy, that's scary. What if some guy on the order of a Khomeini or a Khadafi mobilized those guys and started sending them out to every major city? I know it's going to happen, and even in the movie, the head terrorist says, "It's so easy because of the freedom of movement in this country." So we're really accessible to this. The movie is not meant to scare people, but to make us aware of a potential problem."
Not only did this movie cost $12 milion, but it was spent the right way: the houses that get blown up real good are all real, as is the Avondale Mall. The Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport was going to bulldoze an entire suburban neighborhood to extend a runway and the mall was also being rebuilt, so the filmmakers paid enough that they could explode some real lhonest-to-goodness slice of America.
The movie lets you know a few things right off the bat. It's a Joe Zito (The Prowler) film, it's uncompromisin and it's villains are simply villains. They off an entire boat of Cuban refugees in the guise of being coast guardsmen, but they're really an internationall collective of scumbags led by Soviet operative Mikal Rostov (Richard Lynch, the best of all 80s bad guys). Their first move, after killing all those Cubans and taking the cocaine in their boat, is to try and take former CIA agent Matt Hunter (Norris) off the board. They decimate his Everglades home and kill his best friend John Eagle (Dehl Berti), which makes the retired hero re-enlist to deliver death.
As boats full of soldiers unload on the beaches of Miami while another group pretends to be cops and sow chaos. Churches are targeted, a mall is destroyed, a carnival gets bombed to bits and suburban neighborhoods are under attack. During all this, the FBI arrests Hunter for his vigilante attacks on the terrorists, but come on. You know that he's going to be found innocent, strap on some guns and fire a rocket launcher directly at Richard Lynch. We demand blood.
This is the kind of movie where shoving a cocaine straw up a woman's nose, launching her through a window and shooting Billy Drago in the dick is an afterthought. That's how pure evil Lynch is.
I wish that they made twenty of these. Avenging Force may have been a proposed sequel, but Chuck wanted to do other things, so Michael Dudikoff played Matt Hunter, who may or may not be the same character. And that movie is just as deranged as this one. Perhaps slightly more so.
But yeah. Invasion U.S.A. Inspired by Reader's Digest and then 129 people get killed. Chuck killed thirty of them. Invasion brings every state leader together with no politics. Chuck watches Earth vs. the Flying Saucers. God bless America.
