John T. H not a big big fan of Abbott and Costello but this one is my favorite! love the songs the comedy and silliness in this film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/12/24 Full Review Denny S One of the two color films that Abbott & Costello made for Warner Brothers in the early 50s (the other color one was "Abbott and Costello Meet Captain Kidd", which -- in my opinion -- is better). This film was really aimed at the kiddie matinee showings of the day as it is really a film aimed at children. The film fell into public domain, so many copies are poorly transferred. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/20/24 Full Review Chris M As far as I know at the time of writing this review, this was the only color movie Abbott and Costello ever did. It has a "Wizard OF Oz" quality to it. With the contradiction of the real world and the fairy tale world. How people in the real world became characters in Jack's story. But there are some character issues and when I think giant, I don't think a guy who's only 6'6", that's tall but not a giant. Most version of the giant is at least 12 to 50 feet tall. It also lags in the beginning of the story. But good story, good comedy and a slow but fun time. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/12/23 Full Review Steve D Fun take on the often told tale.
