Jordan B One Elvis film that doesn't get the credit it deserves: Elvis plays a familiar part (Walter): a well mannered, smart, ambitious man fresh out of the military. He finds work as a jobber sparring partner, but turns out to be Gig Young's golden goose. While Gig's character (Willy) has a few character flaws, Walter falls for his sister and realizes there are reasons why Willy has good in him. Mix in Charles Bronson and arguably one of Elvis's top soundtracks front to back, and you have an entertaining family flick. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Such a script was a waste of some terrific talent. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Excellent movie. One of my top 3 Elvis favorites. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Even a bad Elvis movie is worth at least one viewing. I liked this one quite a bit. Beautiful 1960's photography. Joan Blackman is always a treat to watch. Elvis has a natural charm that comes through and makes this movie very enjoyable. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member It's an old struggle between sexes. When the woman wants to be married, but the man is afraid of commitment. It's an old story about a boxer, who is really good at boxing and all mafiosos are interested in good boxers. It's an old story about a man, who defends women and solves troubles with fists and gets the one other girl in the movie. It's an old story about a man and a woman and her older brother, who doesn't like their romance. So basically you've seen this movie like a gazillion of times, but this one is different, because it has Elvis. His musical numbers are put together rather well with a chorus of men singing in the background, which doesn't make them as glued-on as usually. And only a moderate amount of good old sexist remarks, so for the most part you can just enjoy the movie. :) Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
