Audience Member good western bio-pic of sorts from renowned TV producer dan curtis (dark shadows) Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Not a great film. A tv movie of the seventies, with pauses for commercials. It helped me get familiar with the period, which I am trying to write about. I have an ancestor who was deputized to go after the Daltons. The only well-known actors are Jack Palance as the Lawman going after the Gang, and Randy Quaid as a dull-witted lummox Dalton. Some of the Daltons wore white hats and some wore black. True to the ideologies of the seventies, it's not necessarily the lawmen and judges who were the good guys; as in Butch Cassidy, there's a lot of sympathy for the hedonistic, trigger happy Daltons, with their loyalty and their rough charm. Suzanne Farrell, who plays the madam with a heart of gold, evidently came back from a brain injury to play this role. The Gangleader was also the blonde guy on CHIPS. I wondered if Railroad Tycoon Leland Sanford really had an African American personal Swim Coach. It's that kind of movie: not entirely fascinating, but presenting a mild interest. Now I'm going to read a history about the period. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
