Bruce McCabe Boston Globe Too little and too late in the game for this kind of stuff. Apr 27, 2018 Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com …leaning heavily into stereotypes to not-great effect, Partners isn’t a good film, but as a time-capsule of how negative Hollywood has been about homosexuality, it’s one of a kind… Rated: 2/5 Jan 23, 2024 Full Review Bob Damron 5th Freedom (Buffalo) A movie that reinforces every negative stereotype of what a homosexual/gay should be, it leaves much to be desired. Even if you take out the token gay theme, it is still terrible. May 3, 2023 Full Review Michael Bronski Gay Community News (Boston) Partners is one of those films that is so bad, so base in its intentions, so badly executed that it is impossible to talk about how it went wrong. George Vreeland H Partners is actually a very funny movie. It also shows that when you get to know someone, you forget why you didn't accept that person. The cast is great. George Vreeland Hill Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Not as bad or offensive as advertised. Tries to have a heart and be lighthearted and yet convey some painful truth in the midst of the usual clichés. Beware of the penultimate scene between O'Neal and Hurt that somehow is not properly staged, directed and acted. Something did go wrong there but the rest of the film in unpretentious and entertaining thanks to both Ryan O'Neal and John Hurt. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the worst pieces of tripe to ever involve the gay community. You'll hate yourself afterwards. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member Ok film about a macho straight cop who gets partnered with a gay cop and poses as a gay model in order to solve a murder case. Has lots of outdated stereotypes but has some funny situations. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member I remember seeing this at the cinema circa 1983. Breakthrough at the time. A little cringeworthy now. Oh I miss the 80's HA! Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member 1982. Ryan O'Neal in daisy dukes. camp in it's finest.
